Before that, I’d often dreamed of going northwest to Lowell to see the music fest, always vaguely planning but never taking off. With the coming of Dean Moriarty began the part of my life you could call my life on the road.

Get on the road to Lowell for a Two-Day Folk Fest Friday, April 28-Saturday, April 29 Director Elaine McMillion Sheldon and Producer Elijah Stevens are expected at the fest. And, on April 28, “ King Coal," a documentary about coal mining in Central Appalachia, screens at Somerville Theatre. Meanwhile, at the Brattle on April 27, watch Sigourney Weaver and Joel Edgerton in “ Master Gardener," directed by Paul Schrader. Highlights this weekend includes “Stephen Curry: Underrated” from award-winning filmmaker Peter Nicks on April 27 at the Somerville theater, which is billed as an “intimate look” at the NBA superstar. The 20th annual Independent Film Festival Boston runs a full week, screening some 48 features and 42 shorts at the Somerville, Brattle and Coolidge Corner Theatres. This week, it’s all about catching indie shorts and features in real theaters with fellow Boston movie lovers. Catch Indie Films at IFFBoston Wednesday, April 26-Wednesday, May 3 Yup, complete my list - or a few here - and tag me. But I also challenge you to watch a dance-off, visit an indie film fest, see art in bloom, head on the road to Lowell à la Jack Kerouac, then immerse yourself in Aladdin’s magic carpet ride. (Starts dancing like Elaine from “Seinfeld.”) Okay, you win. But when Adrianna plots her next career move just as Charlotte finally opens a door in academia, distance may not be the only thing that keeps them apart.I hereby challenge you to a dance-off, Boston. One night becomes three and three nights become a hot and adventurous long-distance relationship when Charlotte returns to the States. Hospitable, too, as she absolutely insists Charlotte spend the night on her pullout sofa as the storm rages on. Impressive as hell and strikingly beautiful. When a blizzard strands Charlotte in Spain for a few extra days and she’s left with glorious free time on her hands, the only question is: Dare she invite her grad school crush for an after-dinner drink on a snowy night?Īccomplished, take-no-prisoners art historian Adrianna Coates has built an enviable career since Charlotte saw her last. Yet once in a while, maybe every third trip or so, the job goes delightfully sideways…

On the other, her plan to become a professor is veering dangerously off track.

On the one hand, it takes her around the world. In this sexy, sophisticated romantic comedy, two women juggle romance and career across continents.Ĭharlotte Hilaire has a love-hate relationship with her work as a museum courier.
